Almost three years ago, I bought a “fixer upper,” though I knew NOTHING about fixing “things” up. My plan at the time was to be the one holding the flashlight, lending moral support to and pouring beverages for the person who had the technical “fixer upper” knowledge. So much for plans. Suddenly, I found myself alone in a home that needed more than I could give.
This blog will be about my awkward, yet educational journey into home ownership. I’ll share just about everything I’m learning along the way. I may ask the revolving cast of family members and friends who generously lend their expertise and elbow grease to my cause to contribute their thoughts (if they’re willing). And I may also share other random misadventures, witty anecdotes, etc. But at the core, it will be about being less than handy and living in a house that, I’m almost sure, is going to kill me.
